Travelling to Linköping

Flying to Sweden

Arlanda Airport is Sweden's main international airport. If you're flying to Sweden, this is the airport you want to go to.

With boat to Sweden

You will probably arrive at Värtahamnen or Frihamnen in Stockholm. Find the subway and travel to Stockholm C. Then go to the section "From Stockholm to Linköping".

From Arlanda to Linköping (by plane)

You can fly to Linköping Airport from Arlanda. If you're 25 yrs or younger, you can fly standby for 240 SEK.
If you'd prefer bus or train to get to Linköping, check the following sections.

From Arlanda to Stockholm

There are mainly two alternatives to get to Stockholm:

  • Flygbussarna (bus)
    Travelling time: 40 minutes
    Price: 60 SEK (adult), 40 SEK (student with international student ID), 30 SEK (youth 17 yrs or younger)
    Departures: every 10 or 15 minutes
    Tickets can be bought at Arlanda Airport or on the bus.
  • Arlanda Express (train)
    Travelling time: 20 minutes
    Price: 120 SEK (adult), 80 SEK (student with international student ID), 60 SEK (youth 17 yrs or younger)
    Departures: every 15 minutes
    Tickets can be bought at Arlanda Airport.
Both bus and train will arrive at Stockholm City Terminal.

From Stockholm to Linköping

There are mainly two alternatives to get to Linköping:

  • Swebus (bus)
    Bus number: 831 (towards Göteborg)
    Travelling time: 2h 50min
    Price Mon-Thu: 140 SEK (adult), 110 SEK (student/youth 25 yrs or younger)
    Price Fri-Sun: 200 SEK (adult), 160 SEK (student/youth 25 yrs or younger)
    Departures: every 1 or 2 hours
    Tickets can be bought on the bus.
  • SJ (train)
    Travelling time: 1h 43min (X2000), about 2h 20min (InterCity)
    Price X2000: 485 SEK (adult), 340 SEK (student/youth 25 yrs or younger)
    Price InterCity: 265 SEK (adult), 185 SEK (student/youth 25 yrs or younger)
    Note that these prices were found via a quick search at www.sj.se and may vary a lot depending on what time you travel!
    Departures: X2000 trains every hour, InterCity trains more often
    Tickets can be bought at Stockholm City Terminal.
Both bus and train will arrive at Linköping Resecentrum.

With car to Linköping

If you travel by car to Linköping, you will probably come via the E4 highway. Regardless if you come from the north or the south, we recommend that you take the second exit to Linköping, signed Linköping Norra and IKEA.

Travelling within Linköping

With car to Ryttargårdskyrkan

From the E4 you will, after driving for a while, come to the roundabout (Bergsrondellen) in the top left area of the map. Keep driving straight forward through this and the next roundabout (Abiskorondellen). Turn right on Östgötagatan and drive straight forward in the crossing onto Kaserngatan. When you reach Djurgårdsgatan, turn right.
Ryttargårdskyrkan will soon turn up on your left side, but you have to turn left onto Garnisonsvägen to get there. Please use the parking space at Universitetssjukhuset if there are a lot of cars at the church!

With bus to Ryttargårdskyrkan from Linköping Airport

Go west from the airport on Gelbgjutaregatan until you come to Gamla Tanneforsvägen. To your left you will find a bus stop called Vretagatan. Take the local bus marked 210 towards Resecentrum. A bus ticket costs 16 SEK and is valid for an hour. You can buy a "value card" and load it with minimum 100 SEK, and then travel for 11 SEK. This may be valuable if you are many people travelling with the same value card (it's not personal).
When arriving at Resecentrum, switch to bus 211 towards Östra Valla (see next section). Since your bus ticket is valid for an hour, you don't need to buy a new one on this bus.

With bus to Ryttargårdskyrkan from Resecentrum

When you've arrived at Linköping Resecentrum, find the local bus marked 211 towards Östra Valla (Gamla Linköping). A bus ticket costs 16 SEK and is valid for an hour. You can buy a "value card" and load it with minimum 100 SEK, and then travel for 11 SEK. This may be valuable if you are many people travelling with the same value card (it's not personal).
Step off the bus at the bus stop Eskadern. Now you will find Ryttargårdskyrkan on your right.

With car to Skylten

Go back towards the city on Djurgårdsgatan. When you reach Drottninggatan, turn right. Turn left on Hamngatan. Turn right on Stånggatan, the road that goes under the bridge. Turn left on S. Oskarsgatan. Skylten is now on your left. Park the car at the parking place Gesällen.

With bus to Skylten

Take the same bus back to Resecentrum, 211 towards Tallboda. Find the tunnel that goes under the trails and go all the way to the other side. Continue to walk along the trails for a short while and you will find Skylten on your right.

Walking back to the accomodation places

Unfortunately there are no buses at night when the concerts are over. We suggest that you team up with a bunch of friends and walk back to where you're sleeping. Follow the map to find your accomodation place.
